Čičmany or Flower Designs Birdhouse

Local Iowa craft artist, Jeanne Allgood, made the birdhouses exclusively for NCSML in celebration of our heritage.

Made entirely of wood except the roof which is metal and has two coats of paint. Thick wire hook on metal roof ensures sturdy position. After feathery residents leave the house, it can be cleaned by loosening four screws underneath (each birdhouse has a beautiful design on the bottom too!). The outer side of the birdhouse has been treated with three coats of clear coat that preserves the wood from the elements for a long time.
